Muse frontman and actress Kate Hudson's former flame Matt Bellamy has put his luxurious Lake Como apartment on the market for a cool €1.7 million (approx £1.5 million).

He's listed the exclusive lakefront Villa Erker Hocevar property, built in 1829, on property specialists Zoopla.

The luxurious accommodation is spread over two floors, has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and stunning views over the lake.

There's also a communal swimming pool so you never know, you could end up doing a front crawl with an A-lister.

Bellamy has even taken the time to carefully refurbish the 2,700 square foot condo, which was home to the musician while penning the band's 2011 Grammy-winning album, The Resistance.

The apartment is nestled in Moltrasio - a picturesque village right in the heart of the popular celebrity holiday hangout of Como, so expect the likes of George Clooney and billionaire business mogul Sir Richard Branson. Until 2008, fashion royalty the Versace family also lived there.

The listing says: "Lake Como Sotheby’s International Realty are delighted to be able to offer for sale this most elegant Penthouse which has been hewn from the upper two floors of an exclusive lakefront villa, built in 1829.

"Situated in Moltrasio, the main village of the fabled ‘Riva Romantica’ of Lake Como, this home has been refurbished and maintained by the current owner to an exceptionally high standard and offers tremendous lateral space for the discerning purchaser.

"The villa is located within moments’ walk from café’s, bars and restaurants of Moltrasio as well as the ferry dock for ‘Gestione Navigazione Laghi’ which provides regular services around the lake.

"The Villa Erker Hocevar has been home to two world renowned composers – Vincenzo Bellini and the current owner who composed and recorded a 2011 Grammy award winning album at the villa."

On the ground floor, expect a large living/gathering room with feature fireplace, lake-view terrace with French doors, generous sitting room with a large family kitchen and a guest bedroom suite which has historically been used as a studio.

On the upper floor there is a lake-view master bedroom suite, two additional bedrooms and a hot tub bathroom.

The condo provides residents with extensive communal gardens of approximately 1.25 acres designed in the classical Italian-style, featuring a deconsecrated chapel, a fountain and a bridge leading to one of the rare lakeside swimming pools.

You even get a single parking space thrown in, an internal double garage and the opportunity to negotiate a boat mooring spot.

So if you've got some spare dollar to throw around, this might be just the buy for you.
